Meet Coach Moe

Head Swim Coach & Director

Born and raised just outside Boston, Massachusetts, in the small city of Worcester, Coach Moe developed her love for water at an early age. From toddlerhood, Moe's father introduced her to swimming at the local YMCA and the cold New England Ocean during the summers. This early exposure to swimming led Moe to join a year-round USA swimming team as soon as she was eligible, and she continued to swim competitively with the Worcester Swim Club until graduating from St Peter-Marian Central Catholic High School. After high school, Moe joined the US Navy, where she served as the Head Coach for several teams while stationed around the world.

Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, Moe pursued further education in Behavioral Sciences and Recreational Management at the University of Maine. With a coaching career spanning over 30 years, Moe has had the privilege of working with numerous incredible athletes and coaches, incorporating the lessons learned into her coaching methods.

Recently, Moe worked as an assistant coach at Santa Clara Swim Club, where she played a pivotal role as the primary coach for the PRSR2 group and supported Dave Meck with the SR3 group. Her commitment to professional development led her to attend premier swim clinics, gaining insights from some of the country’s foremost Olympic swimming coaches. Additionally, Moe generously volunteered as a coach for the Santa Clara Special Olympics swim team, demonstrating her dedication to inclusive sports training.

Coach Moe is not just focused on creating skilled swimmers but is also dedicated to teaching her athletes to believe in themselves, which she considers the secret to success in and out of the pool.

She believes that an athlete's mental health is crucial, and instilling self-belief is key to success. Moe sees swimming as an enjoyable activity, despite the stress and pressure, and emphasizes the importance of consistent coaching. Her guiding principle is “I love what I do, and I do what I love.”
